Celebrate Your Child's Birthday Party In Hertfordshire With Event Photography
Of all the event photography I do, the biggest change I’ve seen in recent years is the meteoric rise of children’s birthday party photography. I am often commissioned for children's birthday parties from a small 1st birthday gathering at home to soft play parties and even horse riding or climbing.
So why has this type of photography grown so much? Why hire an event photographer? Well it’s quite simple really… You’ve spent all this time organising a special day that will become one of the favourite milestones you and your children reminisce about for years to come. After all that effort, you’ll want to capture all the special moments, but you don’t want to spend the entire party running around after the kids with a camera around your neck.
Event photography is different to my Hertford studio family portrait photoshoots. Through reportage and documentary photography, the atmosphere, fun and real essence of the event is captured. I get in on the action, following the children and hanging out at the bottom of slides, by the trampoline or under the high ropes to get action shots. I photograph the children chasing bubbles and the kid's entertainer crazy with energy. When children are engrossed in having fun real personalities are captured, and (sometimes) even the tears. My documentary photography focuses entirely on capturing the special moments of the party as they unfold.
I have a relaxed photography style and unobtrusive manner. I will create a wonderful record of the day for the whole family to look back on. As a parent, you definitely don’t want to be behind the camera. You want to be there for your child blowing out of the candles on the birthday cake.
In additional to the lifestyle coverage of the birthday party, I often get requested to take a couple organised group photographs while the family are all together. I’m quite happy to do this in small informal groups during the event or at the end just before everyone goes home.
To capture the whole event I photograph adults, children and babes in arms. My events packages include all usable photos edited via download, with an option to have them on USB if required.
Most of my clients fall in love with the photos and order an album or Wall Art. However, you can feel free to share online, send to relatives and print yourselves should you so wish. I shoot in colour, but do sometimes throw in black and white photos if it fits the mood. It’s best if we have a chat in advance to find out exactly what you’re hoping to get from the shoot. I photograph birthday parties indoors and outdoors. Locations within Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridge, London, and potentially further afield are all possible.
My Birthday Party and events packages cost £160 per hour, with a minimum 2 hours. This includes my time at the party, all editing in line with my usual event style (any major edits such as skin work can be discussed at an additional cost if required) and all images via online download (or USB’s are available upon request).
